An Openbill Stork Fishing
The only Openbill Stork I have ever seen in the wild.
Purple-crested Turaco
Another bird I finally saw on my last trip to Kruger National Park! After hearing them for years in forests I've walked through, and many living near a friend's house in Louis Trichardt. I finally saw more first Purple Created Turaco just outside our hut while staying at Pretoriuskop Camp!
Leopard Relaxing in the Midday Heat
A lone Leopard resting and surveying it's surroundings during the heat of the day.
The story behind this photo is kind of funny. Driving down a dirt road in the north of the Kruger National Park with a friend. We had been following a car about 150m back for ages. It pulled into a little overlook over a dry riverbed and quickly left. I decided to stop to increase the distance between us and them. Very quickly I notice this white patch across the riverbed, turns out to be this gorgeous Leopard. We end up being the only people watching this Leopard. What a nice sighting!

Ground Hornbills at Sunrise
Strangely one of my favourite experiences. Driving through Kruger National Park near Shingwedzi Rest Camp first thing in the morning and stumble across this small family of Southern Ground Hornbills calling and joining in in the dawn chorus.

Cheetah Baboon Conflict
Not a great photo but a great sighting. After the monkeys were giving alarm calls this morning we find a female Cheetah, who had recently eaten, being mobbed by Baboons. They were persistent and unrelenting. In this photo you can see the aggression; the dust being thrown up by the large male Baboon as he charged; the bright red mouth and the teeth of the Cheetah as she hisses and retaliates.
