For this 2 and half hour walk I was a participant.
We were a group of 5 for this walk. We split into two teams. The first team, including me, left into the bush leaving a mixture of tracks, signs, breaking branches (leaving natural signs), leaving artificial objects and objects indicating directions. Once we found a suitable location to hide – this included logs, bushes, and I hid in the top of a dead Lead Wood tree – the other team attempted to trail us. Once they found us we swapped teams. Once both of the teams had done it our mentor showed us how to do it better and hid then we had to trail her. It was an exercise to train our eyes to look for both natural and unnatural signs in the bush. It also helped us hone our trailing abilities.
