It Isn't A Crash Of Rhinos | In The Roar

Collective Nouns. They are great in helping you describe a group of animals you see. However, words that describe a specific group of animals, for example “a crash of rhinos” or “a journey of giraffes” are stupid. What’s the point in them? They are absolutely ridiculous, in fact at one point in history you might have been ridiculed for using them… But why?

In this latest video on The Naturalist Online I fall into the quagmire of collective nouns for animals and discover that if you're using them you might be falling for a centuries old joke.
